Methods of Photo Printing

Many people are quite concerned about the ways and techniques these pictures are printed on personalized mugs.

The first and the oldest method is that of hot decal, or paper stain. There are certain advantages and disadvantages of this method. Abrasive resistance is a huge merit of this method. The picture is printed in such a way so as it is quite difficult to spoil it when washed or left in an open heat. However, the printing is made on a huge amount of cups and colour reproduction leaves much to be desired. It is quite common to print a logo or plain and simple image - not a picture - on a mug. It takes about five days to decal this range of mugs in an appropriate way. Thus this method is used mostly by large companies which want to put on market cups with their logo and some writing related in any way to their organization.

The second method is knows as a method of 'cold decal' which means that the process of printing does not require heat treatment. It is possible to produce even one item with quite qualitative printed picture. But the demerit is that this picture will not survive even first washing, thus these mugs are good at being a present on a shelf. It's not very interesting, is it?

The next method is a technology of laser transference. The essence of this method is that a picture is to be produced by a laser printer on a special type of paper first, and then under high temperature the paints on the paper are subject to stick to a mug surface. Later on this mug is well heated for better engagement of a toner on it. But still the produced image is not that durable: after few types of washing be ready to take leave with your lovely photo. Frankly speaking, hardiness and colour reproduction are not long-lasting.

The fourth and most popular method of Photo Mug producing is the method of first-generation sublimation. The core of this method is that a picture or a logo is to be printed on a special sublimate paper and under heat and pressure influences the paints are subject to sublimate on a cup surface. Sublimation is a process of transferring material from solid into gas state under high temperature influence. Huge advantages of this method are short period of production, high abrasive resistance, and low net cost. But still a picture will not be in high resolution and distinct as one wants to a present which is a main demerit of this printing method.

And the last and most successful method is a second-generation sublimation. This method was first introduced by Sawgrass Technologies Inc. The main point of this method is in use of patented paint of low-molecular structure which does not lose its qualitative features while heated. In comparison with the first-generation sublimation this technology keeps high percentage of picture transference coefficient - up to 97% versus 73% of the first-generation`s. Only due to professional equipment, technologies of colour system management, and our personnel craft we can produce most durable and unalterable Photo Mugs. And due to modern technologies you can get your cup within a day!

So, do not be confused on a special occasion Eve. Simply think of pleasant memories caught in certain pictures and make Photo Mugs to amaze and rejoice people you want to congratulate.
